R & R.

This afternoon I took a couple of hours off  , loaded the kayak onto the ute and went fishing at a local river.

It was the first time I have fished in several months.

I met an old friend at 'the spot' and we fished for a couple of hours. It was good to slowly paddle down the river , casting lures  , catching a few fish. Good for the soul.

The water was cold , about 18-20 degrees C. No wind. Bright sunny afternoon.

Three small Australian Bass , and two Golden Perch. The larger Golden Perch put up a great contest as l was using 10lb line.

Lures used were "McPerch" 55mm Deep , one of purple and one of a natural gold/silver. Both with black stripes.

Lures for Townsville , Queensland.

"Mugil" 100-Deep and "Slim" 115-Shallow on their way to Fishing Warehouse in Townsville , Queensland.

Photos show the last of painting , marking the eyes , and the final lures.

Bass , and a new Bass lure.

A 41cm Bass caught in a creek in southeast Queensland a few weeks ago.

Lure is a "Perchette" 65 shallow. Colour "Sunset Tiger'.

A lure l've been working on for some time...

Inspired by Bass , made for Bass [though would probably be useful for Mangrove Jack , small Barra , Flathead etc etc].

Painted as a little freshwater Grunter common in Queensland rivers and creeks.

66mm long. Shallow diver.
